Japanese-born owner of our shop became interested in Finland and beautiful scenes which was seen by TV and books.
After that she came to travel to Finland and also Finnish music has been dear to her heart.
The owner has arrived in Finland to study music and she has got the Degree of Musician in Finland.
This business idea was born when she was writing her theses, because she has also got to know Finnish people, nature and culture.
Then she wanted to introduce to them so that they can know more about exotic and beautiful home country.
Nowadays Finnish and other Scandinavian countries design and products are quite popular in Japan.
And owner loves both Finnish and Japanese design and handicrafts very much as well she enjoys handicrafts for example knitting and embroidery.
Then she has familiarized with Japanese traditional crafts since she was child.
Owner wants to bring Japanese high quality and fine products to Finland so that Finnish people can learn to know about Japan much more via these products.
There is a long history then different traditional crafts were born and have invented in Japan.
In addition we will add more web pages, useful internet websites and travel tips which are connected to Japan in the near future.
The name of our shop, Sakura no Sato means the hometown or village of cherry blossoms, in other words Japan, because cherry blossom is the national flower of Japan.
You can buy Japanese high-grade, high quality and unique products at our shop.
Sakura no Sato is a young company and has founded just in spring 2008.
We wish you like products of our shop and welcome again!
We understand Finnish, English and Japanese and service customers by e-mail, phone and mail in these three languages.
We have also Finnish-Japanese-Finnish translation and interpretation service and we can arrange Japanese language private lesson (we can teach also in English) in Jyväskylä region.
